Our Daycare Model
We build stable canine packs and minimize your dog’s stress. What’s a “stable canine pack?” It’s a social unit where the dogs are known to each dog. By attending daycare on a weekly basis, your dog is helped to learn (trained!) appropriate canine social skills; inappropriate play patterns are consistently interrupted.
Attending dog daycare is like your dog visiting their own dog family. They become eager to reconnect with their known pals each time they arrive.
Owners enjoy a dog-free, guilt-free day weekly.
Dogs are under constant supervision.
Dogs are in a clean environment.

Staff in combination with the pet parent choose the day(s) of the week the pup attends daycare. The pet parent commits to bringing their dog on the same day weekly. This model ensures familiarity among the dogs and reduces stress. Some dogs should not attend daycare more than one day a week. Staff will communicate the best plan for your dog based on how your dog is presenting while in a pack.
Dogs must undergo a scheduled handling evaluation prior to day care and boarding attendance. The evaluation shows that the dog accepts human handling. Not all dogs are daycare and/or boarding candidates.
Please inform the handler if your dog has a history of disallowing any body areas to be handled or touched.

While on lead the dog will be walked away from the pet parent
We do require updated vaccinations in Gingr. Gingr is the computer software that supports our business. If we do not have up to date vaccinations in our system, we will not be able to welcome your dog in our facility. We require Bordetella, Leptospirosis, Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, and Rabies. It is the owners responsibility to provide up to date vaccination records. Records may be emailed to info@smarterthanyourdog.com. Once you have a Gingr profile, you may login to Gingr and upload the vaccination records directly.
If owners have chosen to forego immunizations for health reasons, a veterinarian statement with clear reasons is required. STYD reserves the right to decline a dog for services despite a written statement from your veterinarian.
To keep playtime fun, generally we do not receive unaltered dogs after 6 months of age. All unaltered dogs who attend daycare prior to 6 months will be assessed each visit for their appropriateness to attend daycare in an unaltered state.
Pups may attend daycare once their immunizations are complete (approximately 4 months of age).

Monday – Friday:
7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
We are a locked down facility. Please make arrangements in advance to speak to a staff member in person. Holiday Closure Schedule NO daycare or boarding drop off or pick up (boarding fully operational):
New Year's Eve, New Year's, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the Friday after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Pricing
Single day $35
5 visits $160 ($32 per day/$15 savings)
10 visits $310 ($31 per day/$40 savings)
We do not offer half day rates for daycare outside of boarding stays. Daycare days purchased do not expire. However no refunds for daycare days purchased after 30 days from purchase date.
Drop off & pick up times
The doors are unlocked for the listed days and times:
Drop off (M-F) 7:30 am to 9:00 am
Pick up (M-F) 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm
Daycare drop off time is strictly enforced. You are welcome to pick up your pup any time before the designated pick up time, simply call when you arrive outside the facility to pick up early.
Weekend Daycare
Weekend daycare has limited availability with boarding dogs taking priority. Saturday and Sunday daycare is available for dogs approved for the canine pack environment. Once the weekend boarding/daycare is filled, no dogs will be received. Weekend daycare must be dropped off between 7:30 am to 9:00 am and picked up between 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm (no exceptions).
